yes BUT as our team leader said they are movies no one has an actuall idea of how to kill them or if they can feel pain or not all we can do is prepare ourselves and when the time comes hope.

Ok let's say we are talking about a reanimated virus that keeps the brain active by sending neural waves to the rest of the body in order to give it a sense of motion. At this point ALL nerves are inactive therefore Zombies can't really feel pain. Some argue they can but let's keep it for this certain virus that the nerves are dead. Now speaking anatomically the reason why humans feel "Pain" is to warn them of the damage to their body. The effect of pain is they slow you down and make you "weak." In the case of Zombies because they feel no pain, shooting off a leg, an arm or blowing a hole through their chest will not matter because their brain will continue to send neural waves to the rest of the body to "keep going" In this case...a machine gun that has not damaged the brain will not effect a Zombie. They will "keep going" Now..depending on the aim of the machine gun we'll see what could happen. Cheers!

I never thought a zombie would feel pain. And I'll give you the heart, but wouldn't the brain still need to send signals via the spine? And I understand that you couldn't KILL a zombie with body shots, but that WOULD incapacitate it at the very least. If you shred the muscle tissue it can't exactly do much of anything. The same would apply to bones if they were damaged enough, the zombie would simply crumple under it's own weight.

Well as i mentioned before, there could be endless types of viruses out there that have different effects on the Zombie. The thing about Zombies is that as long as the brain is still active, the zombie will be a threat. Simply wondering into the wrong direction can get your ankle bitten and via-infected. Yes the brain sends signals anywhere, but damaging the Spine would leave the Zombie simply motionless from whatever certain point one chooses to damage it. As i mentioned before the zombie is still active and to guarantee 100% safety it needs to be shot in the head. Our #1 rule is shot to the brain and our reason behind this is those bastards can get someone even in a way nobody would believe. At this point, its a "better safe than sorry" type of situation. - Cheers!

like I said, I realize it wouldn't completely kill the zombie. But, it WOULD incapacitate them, and in alot of scenarios that is all you would need to escape in a "run and gun" situation. Pausing and taking aim for a headshot each and every time is unrealistic, and I'm a marksman by trade. If I wouldn't even attempt it, I doubt anybody else would be able to achieve such accuracy under duress.

Ah yes see in this situation its definitely reasonable. If you are getting away, shooting in the head won't be exactly easy. Here are a few things you can do to slow them down haha.
1. Throw a coctail grenade 2. destroy their legs (makes em slower to catch you) 3. Machine gun their asses 4. Decapitate with an axe if you are good at it lol.
THINGS NOT to do when running away from Zombies
1. Stop and take a smoke 2. Burn them (its bad enough they are chasing you, you don't want fire zombies chasing you) 3. Stop and have a cup a 'tea w/ em, they are aggressive and don't believe in manners. 4. TRIP (this is caused by stupidity, whatever u do, watch where u run) 5. Look back. (Looking back will cause you to become clumsy)
If you all have anymore feel free to add to the list!

If you are going to suggest an oil slick, you can't forget about the classic banana peel! Really though, I suppose it depends on the type of zombie you were dealing with. If they are "mindless" and un-coordinated like the zombies you typically see depicted in movies, then you could easily slow them down by running over any uneven terrain. Grating perhaps, where a pursuing zombie might lose it's footing and snap it's ankle or fall. Even something as simple as a rock covered trail or road. Hell, if we are talking about your typical zombie movie abomination, a ladder alone would provide a pretty big deterrent. Even if they could climb without slipping and injuring themselves, you could be waiting at the top to give them a boot in the face.

Yup haha but if you are talking about a Rage Zombie. Most of the type typically found in newer films related to stronger viruses, there won't be much to stop them. These Zombies have unnatural strange that related to the effects of the virus. In most cases this is unrealistic due to the body beginning to go into the "Rigor mortis" stages. However if this virus kills the person's personality but not the body then we have a different ballpark discussion to see. I'll save this for another post but for a rage Zombie, typically you won't be able to stop one unless shooting it in the head, unfortunately or Blowing them up.

to be completely ive never shot any type of fully automatic weapon, but i do not see this as a disadvantage, im much more comfortable with a hatchet or machete or in the case of firearms, which i belive should be used only as a matter of last resort, because of noise ( regaurdless of silencer) and expendability of Ammo. stealth should always be your first option not the blind brute force of a weapon that can jam,or in some cases overheat. if you must use a gun, be subtle, a .22 will work just finr in most cases.

I want to figure out why people in some zombie movies such as resident evil 2 have machine guns with like 60 rounds yet only kill 10 when if they shot every zombie in the head they could kill at least 50 Really for movies and that it just adds to the entertainment value. People like watching excessive shooting and gore. As for the .50 cal sniper if you don't want to carry the rifle around a .50 cal Desert Eagle is much lighter.
