Time: 4:00pm Date: Anyday Location: Local Movie Theater, your city Situation: You are in the middle of watching a movie when suddenly, the lights go out, and you hear screaming outside. Signs appear of a possible viral infection. You may only have a knife on you but thats about it. You are in a heavy populated area filled with people and have hundreds more near you scared and bound to do something stupid. What do you do? You may not want go outside being that you have no idea whats going on, but if you peak and see the coast is clear...go for it!

Try to calm the croud, then organise the ones who are calm and arm them with whatever possible, then just wait. If it is biochemical then the last thing we want to do is go outside and risk exposure.

gasping and gurgling, then i know it's airborne. and i'm pretty f**ked no matter what and am prolly already infected. movie theaters aren't air tight, obviously.
screaming outside as if someone is being attacked? i want some fighting room. a crowded room where i can't see my attackers is NOT the way to go. i'm going to peek out the emergency exit to see what i can see. if clear enough, i'm making a break for my car. (in my trunk i usually keep an arsenal of useable items) no guns yet ( i DID take my concealed handgun course, and am not just waiting for the paperwork to be returned to me with my license) but i've got my extendable baton, cuffs, and other various stuff, including my warhammer in my trunk.
if getting out isn't an option (which i assume is the creator of this threads intention) i'm climbing somewhere. i'm a 6'3" tall guy, i can hop up and snag the edge of the window into the movie room pretty easily. from there, i will arm myself with whatever i can find, and turn on the lights. after i found the best suitable weapon for myself, i'll begin tossing other useable weapons out to the people in the theater. (they are my buffer zone, they'll buy me time, and i can observe what i'm facing, and wether the weapons are effective or not) all the while, i'll help get other people up through the window. it won't matter too much who i pull up. screaming fanatical girls will be useless for combat, but are a valueable distraction and decoy. the ones that can fight and can't fight will sort themselves out on their own (by surviving) best i can do for myself is getting as many as i can up to safety with me and armed so they have a chance to prove their usefulness.

I made an amendment to the post! The infection is not airborne or biochemical. But what you do know is that there is some sort of infection that is making people going nuts. You can go outside if you want, this is pretty much what would you do. You hear people screaming outside. If you parked close-by I'd say go for it! If not...hmm don't really know.

I'll tell you what for sure, What i would do is first barricade all of the doors. I will not want to stay in it for a any long periods of time but i do want time to make a plan. Gather those who can fight, or want to fight. And come up with an escape plan. If the infection has not reached inside the theater i would grab any thing i can find as weapons and find the nearest BACK exit. Have the volunteers come with me and considering most theaters are near large stores, I'd find the most logical store and go on the roof with more supplies. If i have a car nearby that is mine, I'd definitely go on it...and make a quick stop at a supply store for things, then leave the city asap. Based on the level of outbreak i would consider going back to my house to collect loved ones but if it has reached critical levels, i don't think i would return.

yeah definetly baracade the doors and get weapons then look for a back exit just in case you need to escape then wait when the screaming dies down check the coast and make a break for my truck i usally have weapons like knifes and pipes in my truck then get to the nearest supply store and get to the roof and wait dont go back for any one if they come with fine

me and my friends are there like every Friday so this is very possible for me. i always park really close to the exit we always use to get out so i would make a break for my car and head home gather the supplies i already have ready for such a situation and regroup with my friends at the school. i might even look at barricading our school since it is in the country and it would be a great gathering place for people to come and it is easy to barricade. steel interlocking fireproof doors.

I'd eat all the over priced snacks to get back at them!
Really I only go with 2 people, one of witch is a kinfe fenatic and is really good at stabbing/throwing/killing/whatever with them. I would set up the 3 of us looking down on either side of the entrence, I would then look out the exit. If I could get out that way I would then I'd attempt to call my team and get somewhere safe.
(I forgot to say that I'd wait till most or all of the others that ran out in a surge are gone)

i'd try and calm the crowd i love trying to be a leader speeches are my thing id collect all the calm ones and head to the front of the theater like the consession stand try and find a authority figure and get as much info as i can if it is infact anything like zombies i'd try to get to a vehicle and drive only to a better spot ( driving on roads with frantic people ) not to smart get supplies and board up somewhere

If I'm at the theater, it's probably because my girlfriend dragged me there. On the bright side, the theater we usually go to is pretty isolated from the majority of the population, so chances are news of an outbreak or the outbreak itself wouldn't reach the theater before we were already on our way out.
More likely than not, we would encounter problems on the way back to either her house or mine, in which case I would want to travel back to my own home for supplies.
My vehicle isn't too maneuverable to weave in and out of traffic, but it can go off road which would help me get closer to home before we had to go out on foot. As for personal protection, I always carry a knife and thanks to my new job, I've got a 700k volt stun baton.
After getting back to my place I would probably fill a backpack with canned foods and purified water, grab all my guns and ammo, then take my truck out to search for those closest to me. I realize it's stupid, but knowing my emotional side I couldn't leave without atleast making an effort to save them.
I would likely get close to their homes, and have my girlfriend drive further into the desert for safety while I traveled on foot and off the roads to avoid both zombies and the panicked masses.
I would do my best to commandeer an abandoned vehicle, and travel with anybody I managed to save out to the desert to rendezvous with my girlfriend and anybody she picked up.
As for a more long term hiding place, I think the roof of a large store like Walmart would be optimal. Walmart sells ammunition, clothing, camping supplies (portable stoves, tents and fuel) and if it's a supercenter, fresh produce should be available. The roof would also offer a more easily defended position, and a vantage point from which to mount rescues or hail aircraft.
Luckily for anybody in this area, we have both a Walmart Supercenter and Super Target right across the highway. And, directly down the highway lies a police station with a gunshop even further down the road. Somewhere around here we have a National Guard armory too, but I don't know where it is.

well usually we try to avoid any big stores like that i know it is a good place to stand your ground but unless you are absoulutly sure that there is no way in from the outside but the roof say like you are checking the back area where they have all of the stuff before they put them on the shelves theres like 3 or 4 back entrences and wal mart does have alot of workers and people there day and night so usually it would be best to try somthing like a gas station like shell or texico but if you can take over a a big store go right ahead i live here in the country so theres realy not alot of people around but i used to live in vegas and boy it was hell trying to get in or out of the store
